What the 31 October 2026 update added
The game carries its own changelog. In a recording uploaded on 31 October 2026, opening UPDATE LOG showed one entry headed BIG UPDATE with the NEW tag and the date OCT 31, 2026, and nine lines under it. These four are the ones this page is about, quoted as printed:
- PLAYSTYLES — “Players have special skills that change how they play in matches.”
- PERKS — “Hover or tap a perk badge to see what it does. Badges are bigger now.”
- NEW CARDS — “A brand new card design with rarity frames and stat bars.”
- BLACK MARKET — “Icons come with their own PlayStyles, new ones every opening.”
That panel is the only place we found the game describing the system in its own text, and it prints no numbers at all. Everything numeric on this page comes from a tooltip or from a card, with the date it was read.
Where the badge sits, and what it prints
Perk badges are diamonds stacked down the top-right corner of the card art, over the frame. The card screen draws them on cards in your collection, and the community market draws them on listings — in a 1 November 2026 recording a 73-rated Halloween listing carried one — so you can read a seller's card before you bid.
Hovering or tapping one prints a small panel with three things: the badge name, the colour and its power figure in brackets, and one sentence of what it changes. A badge can also be drawn with a glow and a small white + in its corner. That is the same badge in its stronger form, and its tooltip ends with the line “PlayStyle+: every bonus is stronger.”
| What you see on the card | What it means | Where we read it |
|---|---|---|
| No diamond | This card has no perk. It is still the same player, rating and stats. | Common listings, 31 October 2026 |
| Diamond with a bronze rim | A bronze perk, printed as 55% power in its tooltip | Icon cards, 31 October 2026 |
| Diamond with a silver rim | A silver perk, printed as 75% power in its tooltip | Icon cards, 31 October 2026 |
| Diamond with a gold rim | A gold perk. We saw the colour on cards and in the badge gallery but never opened its tooltip. | Card screen and gallery, 1 November 2026 |
Glow plus a white + | The PlayStyle+ form of the same badge | Two 94-rated ICON cards side by side, 1 November 2026 |
The numbers the tooltips actually print
Hovering six badges on four ICON cards in the Black Market, in a recording uploaded on 31 October 2026, produced these panels. The fourth column is the line the game wrote under the name, not our summary:
| Badge | Panel header | Power line | Effect line, as printed |
|---|---|---|---|
INCISIVE PASS | Bronze | 55% POWER | Through balls played sharper (headline read; sentence partly obscured) |
INVENTIVE+ | Bronze | 55% POWER | “More accurate passes, often with the outside of the foot. PlayStyle+: every bonus is stronger.” |
TRICKSTER+ | Bronze | 55% POWER | “Beats tackles with skill moves. PlayStyle+: every bonus is stronger.” |
FINESSE SHOT+ | Silver | 75% POWER | “Curls placed shots into the corners. PlayStyle+: every bonus is stronger.” |
QUICK STEP | Silver | 75% POWER | Acceleration (panel partly obscured) |
AERIAL FORTRESS+ | Silver | 75% POWER | Aerial duels (panel partly obscured) |
Two things follow from that table, and one thing does not. Bronze is 55% power and silver is 75%, and the game prints it itself. A + badge is not a fourth colour: it appeared on bronze and on silver badges in the same window, so the plus and the rim colour are separate grades. What the + is worth in numbers is not printed anywhere we could read; a Portuguese-language explainer says 60% stronger, sourced to the game's Discord, and a gold badge is described there as the full 100%. Treat both of those as player-side claims until a gold tooltip is captured.
Two identical cards, one badge
A recording uploaded on 1 November 2026 held two H. Gomez cards side by side in the card screen. Both printed 90 overall, LENDÁRIO rarity, ATQ, Costa Rica and the same five stats: SPD 85, SHO 94, PAS 88, DEF 55, GK 17. The only difference on either card was one bronze diamond on the left-hand copy.
The same recording then compared two Gianluca Buffoni cards, both 94-rated ICON goalkeepers. SPD read 60, SHO 30 and PAS 82 on both, and the right-hand copy printed DEF 82 and GK 97 as well; a caption covered the left copy's DEF, so we read four of its five stats. Both carried three badges, and only one of them had the + form of the third badge.
So a perk belongs to the card in front of you, not to the player it names. A player's page on a fan site cannot tell you whether the copy you are about to buy has a badge, and it cannot tell you which one. Only the card can.
Which cards carry a perk
What we could read directly, across the 31 October and 1 November 2026 uploads:
- The update shows a wall of every badge, drawn in three colour grades. The explainer video puts the total at 36 across six categories — shooting, passing, ball control, defending, physical and goalkeeping — though its own caption over the wall reads “thirty”. We did not count the wall ourselves, so take 36 as the video's number, not a measurement.
- Common cards had none. Five COMMON listings in an Austria filter, rated 64 and 65, showed no diamond at all.
- ICON cards carried several. The four ICON cards in the Black Market window showed two badges each, and the Buffoni pair showed three.
- The card screen reprinted the whole new design: rarity frame, stat bars and badges, with filters for GK, DEF and ATK and sorting by overall, rarity or newest.
The exact chance per rarity is reported, not read. The explainer video attributes these to the game's Discord: common 0%, rare 15% for one badge, and legendary or event cards at roughly half with none, 28% with one, 16% with two, 6% with three and 1% with four. No panel we captured prints those odds, so do not plan a purchase around them; the practical version is that a legendary card is a coin flip for a badge and an ICON card is not.
What this does to the cards you already own
The same explainer says the update is not retroactive: cards obtained before 31 October keep whatever they had, and there is no way to buy a perk, train one, or reroll one. We could not check that in the game, because checking it needs an account holding a pre-update card and a clean before-and-after screen.
What you can check yourself in under a minute: open CARDS, sort by NEWEST, and look at the two ends of the list. Cards pulled before the update and cards pulled after it sit in the same grid, and the corner of each card shows whether it has a badge. If the old end is blank and the new end is not, the claim holds for your club.
The consequence is the part that costs money. A pre-update ICON with no badge is now a different item from the same ICON with one, and the market has no column that separates them.
Buying at the market this week
The community market searches by name or country and filters by position and rarity, then sorts by newest or rating. There is no perk filter and no perk column in the grid, even though each listing card does draw its badges, so the perk is something you read one card at a time. That changes the order you shop in:
- Filter to the rarity and position you need, then sort by rating high, as before.
- Before you compare prices, open each candidate and look at its corner. Two listings are only comparable when both have the same badges, or both have none.
- Hover the badge on the card you are considering. The tooltip names the perk and prints its power, so you can tell a bronze throw-in from a silver one without buying it.
- Price the card against the same card without the badge. If the seller has not priced the perk in, that is the listing to take; if they have, decide whether that specific perk is one your formation asks for.
The perk is only worth paying for if the situation it changes happens in your matches. A goalkeeper perk on a card you field at goalkeeper is doing its job every match; the same perk on a card you rotate in for one formation is decoration. The market page covers the tabs and the 30% cut, the card page covers the stats a perk multiplies, and the Black Market page covers the ICON seller where every card arrives with its own set.
What we could not verify
Four things are open, and each one changes what a card is worth:
- The gold figure. Gold badges are visible on cards and in the gallery, but no gold tooltip was opened. The 100% figure is a creator's claim.
- The PlayStyle+ number. The tooltip says “every bonus is stronger” and stops there. 60% comes from the same claim, not from the game.
- Rarity chances. The 15% and the 50/28/16/6/1 ladder are attributed to Discord and appear in no panel we captured.
- Retroactivity. Nothing we read proves whether a pre-update card can ever gain a perk. The check above settles it for your own club, not for the game.
One reading sits oddly and is worth repeating rather than smoothing over: a 76-overall event card in the card screen printed MAX 72 on its own detail panel. If MAX were a ceiling above overall, that panel should not exist. We have one such frame, so we are not rewriting the meaning of MAX from it, but read the field on the card you are buying instead of assuming it is above the headline number.
