The failure: a trained player cannot play
The official description promises that training raises stats and unlocks potential. What it does not say is the cost in availability.
In a recorded session the club's usual goalkeeper and main striker were both unavailable during training, and the player had to buy a replacement goalkeeper before the next match could go ahead. That is the whole hazard: the upgrade is real, but the squad gets thinner while it happens.
How to recognise it before kick-off
Open SQUAD and read the five slots, not the bench list. A position is covered when a card that fits it is available to play.
The signals that you are about to train into a hole:
- The position has exactly one card, and that card is the one you are training.
- The goalkeeper slot is filled by the same player who appears on your CARDS page with a training marker.
- AUTO FILL fills four slots and leaves one empty after the training starts.
What to check on the training screen
We have not captured a clean training screen, so this page does not quote the cost, the timer or the stat gain. Those four things are on the screen in front of you; read them before you commit:
- Which stat or stats this session raises.
- What it costs, and in which currency.
- How long it takes.
- What the effect is at the end — and whether the card comes back automatically.
If any of those is unclear on your screen, do not start the session. Training is not a timed event you can cancel from what we have seen; nothing in our captures shows an undo.
The four questions before you press start
| Question | If the answer is no |
|---|---|
| Is another card fit for this position? | Delay, or buy a cheap replacement first |
| Will you still field this card after training? | Train someone who stays in the XI instead |
| Do you accept the cost shown on screen? | Wait for a daily quest payout |
| Do you know how the card comes back? | Read the screen until it says so |
Recovery if the position is already empty
Go to MARKET → COMMUNITY, filter by the position, sort by price low, and buy the cheapest card that fits. In one recorded session rare cards were listed at $8,000 to $10,000; a lower-rated common card is enough to hold the slot while your starter trains.
Do not solve this by opening a pack. A pack gives you a random card, and the position you need is not guaranteed.
Why MAX ??? is not a promise
The card detail panel has a field labelled MAX that displayed ??? on the cards we captured. The official description mentions unlocking potential, but the number and the unlock rule are not documented anywhere we could verify.
Treat MAX as "this card can improve" rather than "this card will reach X". The card page explains which stats you are actually raising, and the formations page covers where that player fits once the training finishes.
